Guruji's Talk at Priyadarshini Park Satsang - Who are We? Where were We? Where Will We Be?

The following is Bawa's capturing of the talk - that I reproducing verbatim.. there was no point in my putting down my capturing here....for obvious reasons :-) So enjoy!!! JGD!
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

He says today I am not going to talk about stress and stress relief, relationship issues, etc ... am going to talk about something deeper ... are you ready?!

Think about your age ... 25, 35, 55 ... before that Bombay was right here, but where were you?!

Someone you know has died right? Ever wondered where they have gone?

What we call life is not even the doorway to the house of Life

Ok, you are going to die in a while, 50-60 ... 100 years ... Where will you be going then? Have you ever thought about it?!

Do you know how you got into the womb of your mother?
And do you know when you got out of there?
no ...
Our memories are after we are about 3-4 years old

Children more or less remember their past lives till they are 5 years old ... then they start to forget

Nature has built this into our systems, so that in this lifetime, we can fully experience childhood

And the same Nature has made it possible for us to sometimes remember who we were ... get glimpses of our infinite nature ... This gives our Life a huge boost, when we start to realize we have been here before and are going to come here again

There are units of consciousness ... called kalas ...
Stone has 1 kala
Water has 2
Fire 3
Air 4
Space 5

Trees, plants 6
Animals 7
Human Beings 8
People who are genius, exceptional 9
Sri Ram had 12
Hanuman has 14
Lord Krishna 16

When we die we become something called pitrus

And each city, each place has a presiding Divinity called a Yaksha

Like in our body there are millions and millions of cells that die regularly ... like that the presiding angel of a city is like us, and people are the cells - This is the Yaksha

Then there is the Gandharva who takes care of the Entertainers, the actors, musicians, etc ... A person who can sing beautifully can do that only when there is a Gandharva taking care of them ... however, while a Gadharva will grant fame and the ability to entertain it will bring great personal tragedy to the person .....

The Kinneras are the ones who bring great wealth and power in politics. However, they bring sadness from the second generation of children.

Then the Devas and angels, the celestial beings who are in charge of animals and the environment ... They are all right here right now!

The siddhas are beyond the Celestial Beings, they are the perfected ones - Ones who don't want anything for themselves, who can therefore Bless ...

You are MUCH older than what you think you are ... Right now you may just know this, but when you meditate, you will realise it

When you come to the Guru, and aim for perfection, for Enlightenment ... then all these Yakshas, Gandharvas, Kinneras, Siddhas will help you along. You have taken one step into Spirituality and see how many miracles have been yours to experience ... Take another and see ... There is no end to the possibilities that will open up for you!

We will meditate now ... At the end of meditation, you may ask for one specific boon ... Be specific, it will be granted for you!

Needs and Responsibilities

While every word that Guruji speaks is worth - well dont know what! - here is what I cherished the most from his last night's talk (Jan 12th at Andheri Sports Complex, celebrating Youth Night, on occassion of Swami Vivekananda's birthday as well!):

Your state of life and the happiness surrounding it is determined by the share of needs you have and responsibilities you take in life. A long list of needs and wants and  a relatively small list of responsibilities (like just for your own family members) that you are willing to assume is a sure-shot sign of a unhappy, dissatisfied and a grumbling life....whereas sign of a fulfiling, happy and content life is when one takes more and more responsibilities and has lesser and lesser needs for oneself!!! In fact, when you have no needs for your own self, and are only concerned about the happiness/needs of others and are willing to only assume more and more responsibilities is when you attain Siddhi (perfection, attainment....i.e. reaching closer to enlightenment!)..Now this may sound strange (that somebody who doesnt have anything, can give everything to others!) but it is true....The magic is - when you do not need anything for yourself, and are only concerned about others, you get the power to bless. Then nature also starts supporting you in unfathomable ways when you come from this space of giving and feeling responsible for others' well being rather than oneself...

So, key is.....Take Less...Give More!!!

Guruji left us with - Go home today with this confidence....that everything that you need will be provided to you by nature ....whatever little unmet desires are left .......uske liye main hoon na (I am there for that!)

Jai Gurudev!
